Course Description
A critical examination of a number of important issues connected with religion, e.g., the nature of religion itself, the existence of God, the problem of evil, and questions about the language we use when we address religion. The course will be divided into six themes: 1) Defining and Approaching the Study of Religion(s), 2) Faith and Reason, 3) Traditional and Contemporary Arguments for the Existence of God, 4) Critiques of the Arguments for God’s Existence and the Problem of Evil, 5) Atheistic Perspectives, and 6) Alternative Strategies.
